DIY - Little rabbit backpack

To go egg hunting, make this beautiful little rabbit backpack

We were completely under the charm of a tutorial made by Carocrea and we decided to offer you our version of his backpack bunny.

Material

• 24” (60 cm) children’s print fabric

• 12” (30 cm) solid fabric matching children’s print fabric

• Odif 808 Paper Pattern Adhesive

• Odif Fabric Booster

• 6’ (2 m) Cotton straps for backpack

• White wool and wool needle to make one

• Patterns

• Pencil or fabric marker

• Threads to match fabrics

Step 1

Adhere the pattern pieces to the back of the fabric with 808 Reactivating Adhesive and cut.

Step 2

Place ear fabric right sides together and sew around the ears on the sewing line as indicated on the pattern and turn to right side.
Apply Odif Fabric Booster, protect with parchment paper and iron dry.
Your rabbit ears will now be stiff.

Step 3

Place ears between top and bottom halves right sides together keeping them at the same distance from the edges, zigzag stitch to baste in place and assemble with a straight stitch.
Repeat the assembly for other side of backpack (without the ears).
Fold the strap loops in 4 equal parts to the back of fabric, fold the outside quarters to the center back and topstitich.

Step 4

Iron a 3/8” (1cm) edge of the solid fabric and fold again 1 ¼” (3cm).

Step 5

Sew top solid fabric pieces together leaving a 1 ¼” (3cm) opening from the last pressed marking.
Topstitch 2 rows of stitching on the joining solid and printed Fabrics seam.

Step 6

Sew the strap loops on the bottom half of the side seams at 3/8” (1cm) from the bottom of the back pack and assemble backpack with a straight stitch and zigzag stitch to strop fraying.

Step 7

Stitch 1 ¼” (3cm) from the top fold to create strap opening.
Turn to right side.

Step 8

Put 3’ (1m) of the straps through the opening using a safety pin once from right to left sewing extremities together and once from left to right with the other 3’ (1m) strap.

Step 9

Pompom : Make 2 x 2 ¾” (7cm) diameter cardboard circles with a 1 ¾” (2cm) opening in the center.
Using the needle threaded with wool and going from inner to outer edges, cover the cardboards in wool.
