Step 1
Measure your tablet to cut your pieces accordingly
Cut 2 pieces of fabric for the lining
Cut 2 pieces of fabric for the outer layer
Cut 2 layers of batting
You will want a bit of wiggle room on all sides in addition to seam allowance. We suggest adding 1” to the height and 2” to the width of your tablet to get your fabric sizes if you plan to put your zipper along the top of the pouch. Also cut a 2” square of fabric that will go at the end of your zipper.
Step 2
Lay your fabrics on a clean dry surface
Use a paint brush to gently paint on OdiCoat onto the fabric
Let dry and repeat for 2 more layers until fabric is completely covered
After 3 coats, let the pieces dry for 24 hours
Step 3
Take the 2” square of outer fabric, and fold it in half to mark the center
the 2” square of outer fabric, and fold it in half to mark the center
This creates a ½” strip which can be sewn to the end of your zipper like shown
Fold the tops of the zipper down at an angle and baste in place with the zipper slightly open
Step 4
Use a basting stitch or Odif 505 to adhere the batting to the wrong side of the outer layer of fabric
Step 5
Center your zipper with the top of the quilted outer fabric with the right sides together
Sew an ⅛” seam to baste the zipper in place
Lay an inner fabric piece on top of the zipper with the right side down. Sew a ¼” seam to attach all layers together
Fold all layers flat and away from the zipper. Press in place and then topstitch an ⅛” inch away from the zipper
Step 6
With the right sides together, center the zipper with the second side of your outer fabric
Sew an ⅛” seam to baste the outer layer in place
Lay the remaining inner fabric piece on top of the zipper with the right side down. Sew a ¼” seam to attach all layers together
Step 7
Open the zipper of the pouch and unfold the layers of fabrics.
Match the outer layers with right sides together, and pin together
Match the inside layers right sides together and pin in place
Stitch around the rectangle, being sure to leave a 3-4” opening at the bottom of the lining
Step 8
Turn the pouch right side out through the opening in the lining, and then stitch the hole closed either by hand or by machine
Stuff the lining back into the pouch to finish it off
