Material

  • 21 x 30 cm fabric 21 x 30 cm plain or tone-on-tone printed fabric
  • 21 x 30 cm of terry cloth
  • Falling plain or printed fabrics (for applied reasons)
  • 130 cm of pre-folded bias matching the bib fabric and sponge fabric
  • Odif Odicoat
  • Wide flat brush
  • Odif Fabric Booster
  • Odif 505 Temporary Adhesive
  • Thread and matching sewing thread at the bias
  • Sewing needle
  • Sewing pliers or pins
  • Sewing machine
  • Kam press studs and clamps (or conventional press studs and installation tool)
  • Iron

Step 1

  • Using the supplied pattern (pdf), cut the shape of the bib in the cloth and sponge cloth.

Step 2

  • With the flat brush, coat the place of the bib with a thin regular layer of Odicoat.
  • Let dry for about 20 min.

Step 3

  • Soak the fabric scraps with the Odif Fabric Booster, smooth them down and let them dry 10 to 15 min.

  • Iron the still damp fabric scraps to smooth them.

  • Print the chosen motif in 2 pieces.
  • Spray the Odif 505 temporary adhesive on the back of the leaves then roughly cut the different parts of the bird and flower and stick them on the fabric slips with the Odif Fabric Booster.
  • Cut the different parts of the pattern according to the contours.

  • Coat the bib with a new layer of Odicoat with the flat brush and glue the different parts of the pattern in place, respecting the overlays.
  • Level the surface of the bib with the flat brush.
  • Let dry 20 min.

  • Run a third layer of Odicoat over the entire surface and dry again 20 min.
  • Iron the bib to secure the Odicoat by protecting the surface with parchment paper.

Step 8

  • Superimpose the sponge bib and the fabric bib and lay the bias straddling the 2 thicknesses while holding it with sewing clips.
  • Building the bias.

  • Prick the bias in the machine all around the bib 2 mm from the edge of the bias.

  • Apply the pressures using the Kam clamp: 1 male pressure on the left side, washer on the top and 2 female pressures on the right side, washers on the bottom.
